Wow! Just like the birth of my firstborn, Zoey Ann, I’m filled with excitement. However, that excitement soon turned into fear. At just 23 weeks and 6 days pregnant, my wife was admitted to the hospital and placed on complete bed rest. She was diagnosed with PPROM, rupture of the amniotic sac. She would remain bedridden for three weeks before our little bundle of joy arrived on Thanksgiving Day.
At just 25 weeks and 6 days, she made her grand entrance into the world, fighting against numerous odds. Zoey Ann (aka ZAPS) spent the next 86 days in the NICU, teaching us to tap into our inner strength and faith. I firmly believe that God personally selected us for this journey. He bestowed upon us His mercy and grace.
In my opinion, true heroes don’t wear capes; they wear heart monitors, feeding tubes, and adorable little crochet hats. I believe angels disguise their wings with scrubs. The funds we raise will enable March of Dimes to support research, lead programs, provide education, and advocate for families in our community and across the nation.
If you share my belief that every baby deserves the best possible start, please support me in achieving a significant goal of mine—completing 26.2 miles in the New York City Marathon. By making a donation to support this community effort, we can collectively fight for the health of all moms and babies.
Since that day and for the rest of our lives, we will continue to help families and babies worldwide.
With preterm birth rates continuing to rise, the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.
At March for Babies™ you're lifting up communities, creating connections and taking action to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.
Together, we’re marching to raise funds and awareness to transform the health of all families!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
