As many of you know, I have been involved in researching ways to improve maternal health over the past 5+ years, through working in clinical research in maternal-fetal medicine to now pursuing a PhD in Epidemiology with a focus on reproductive health at the University of Pennsylvania.
In 2022, I ran the Chicago Marathon with March of Dimes, fundraising to create positive change for moms and babies everywhere, especially those most at risk. This year, I am SO excited to be partnering with March of Dimes again for the 2025 NYC Marathon! With preterm birth and maternal death rates continuing to rise, I’m committed to raising funds so that every family gets the best possible start. On a more personal and less serious note, I am also committed to improving my 2023 NYC Marathon time when I unknowingly ran with COVID and had the worst 5 hours of my life.
Every year, March of Dimes funds incredible, ground-breaking research with projects including identifying genetic variants predisposing mothers to preterm birth, applying machine learning approaches to studying the vaginal microbiome, and evaluating the impact of policy expansion on maternal health outcomes. Please visit my fundraising page to make a donation and to keep this essential research funded. Together we’ll be part of a movement to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy!
By supporting my marathon journey, you're contributing to essential programs that:
March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
