The Irwin Family Supports March for Babies 17 Years In A Row!

The March For Babies is an annual tradition in our house and we use it as an opportunity to celebrate our family and how far we've come.

Gabriel was born at 32 weeks and only weighed 2 pounds, 14 ounces.  He spent 31 days in the NICU at University Hospital before he could come home.  These were scary times as I was very sick and didn't get to hold him until he was three days old.  We learned how to change diapers through the portholes in the isolette and how to give baths around bundles of wires.  Through this we learned how strong he was and how strong we were too.

Nate was born a year later at 36 weeks and weighed 4 pounds, 9 ounces.  He spent 7 days in the NICU at Rose Medical Center before he could join us at home.  Close monitoring of my health and Nate's gestation made us feel a little more confident, but nothing prepares you for leaving your newborn at the hospital.

Having two children born prematurely was a challenging way to start off parenthood and we appreciate all the help and guidance we've recived along the way.  We walk to celebrate our family and journey we've taken together.

WE NEED TO UNITE, CONNECT AND FIGHT FOR FAMILIES

With preterm birth rates continuing to rise, the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.

At March for Babies: A Mother of a Movement you're lifting up communities, creating connections and taking action to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.

Together, we’re marching to raise funds and awareness to transform the health of all families!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
