Meet Our Ambassador Family

 

 

The Neufeld Family

Like many expectant parents, Marla and Jason Neufeld were excited about growing their family. Marla and Jason worked with a surrogate to welcome their twins, Ethan and Asher, to the world following a journey with infertility. Ethan and Asher were born at 33 weeks and were treated at a Florida NICU requiring feeding tubes and oxygen for a limited period of time. During the surrogate’s gestation the twins were the recipients of a March of Dimes created steroid to help develop their lungs. Today, Ethan and Asher are kind, smart almost 10 year olds, who enjoy pickleball, Pokémon, Marvel movies, and bugs. Ethan and Asher also enjoy giving back to the NICU community by assisting with donations of needed baby supplies to a local South Florida NICU. The U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth. That’s why we’re advocating on behalf of families everywhere to pass laws to improve health equity and prioritize mom and baby health. For nearly 85 years, March of Dimes has helped every family get the best possible start, which is even more critical today. “My life was forever changed once a NICU journey became part of our story. We support March of Dimes because of the incredible resources and education it provides to protect the health of moms and babies,” says Marla Neufeld. “Serving as an ambassador family and sharing our story lets us show our gratitude for the work of March of Dimes that has helped so many babies like Ethan and Asher.”
