Our Miracle Journey & Supporting March of Dimes
Each year, 1 in 10 babies are born preterm, a statistic that became a reality for our family when our daughter, Rori, made her miraculous entry into the world at 33 weeks and 6 days. Our journey was nothing short of a rollercoaster, beginning with my water breaking at nearly 21 weeks, leading to 105 days of bedrest in antepartum at Memorial Hermann Children's Hospital.
Rori's battle started early, born not just prematurely but with several medical challenges, including acute respiratory failure, Hyperbilirubinemia, persistent left SVC (superior Vena Cava), pulmonary hypertension, multiple VSD's (ventricular septal defect), a sacral dimple with is cause from a spinal lipoma, and due to my water breaking so early in pregnancy, she was affected by IUGR (intrauterine growth restriction) and a clubbed right foot. Her journey was marked by incredible resilience, supported by an unwavering faith, a dedicated medical team, and the love of our family and friends.
This experience has deepened our understanding of the fragility of early life and the miracles performed daily in neonatal care. It's why we stand with and support the March of Dimes, an organization leading the fight for the health of all moms and babies. Through research, education, and advocacy, they work tirelessly to ensure every family has the healthiest start possible.
Please join us in supporting the March of Dimes. With your help, they can continue to provide vital support to every pregnant person and every family, building on their successful 85-year legacy. Your donation can make a world of difference in the lives of babies like Rori and families like ours.
Rori's journey was a testament to what can be achieved when love, science, and determination come together. Let's give back to ensure that every baby, every mother, and every family has the fighting chance they deserve.
With preterm birth rates continuing to rise, the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.
At March for Babies™ you're lifting up communities, creating connections and taking action to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.
Together, we’re marching to raise funds and awareness to transform the health of all families!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
