All day on February 16, 2022, at 33 weeks + 2 days pregnant, I felt something was off with my baby. I didn't really feel any movement all day and when I tried to eat a bunch of sugar to induce movement, nothing happened. I decided to go in to the hospital that night around midnight to be checked out just in case. I needed the peace of mind. Long story short, it was great that I went in because I needed an emergency c-section in the morning after a scary night of frequent drops of the fetal heart rate.
At 8:50am on February 17th, our baby boy was born prematurely at 33 weeks + 3 days and immediately admitted to the NICU for breathing treatment & support. Gavin also received treatment for jaundice, platelet transfusions, and IV glucose for a random few days of low blood sugar.
I couldn't imagine our lives without Gavin and am eternally grateful for the outstanding care both of us received at Hinsdale hospital.
I have joined the movement to create positive change for moms and babies everywhere, especially those most at risk.
With preterm birth and maternal death rates continuing to rise, I’m committed to raising funds so that every family gets the best possible start. But I need your help.
Please visit my fundraising page to make a donation. Together we’ll be part of a movement to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.
With preterm birth rates continuing to rise, the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.
At March for Babies™ you're lifting up communities, creating connections and taking action to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.
Together, we’re marching to raise funds and awareness to transform the health of all families!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
