We march for babies because our family has unfortunately experienced the many reasons why this walk exists. Today, we support this walk not only because of our personal experiences but because we know how important and necessary the work is!
In 2021, at 28 weeks pregnant, due to complications, we gave birth to our beautiful twin boys Aversen and our Angel Aiven. Aiven only lived for 15 hours but he is our main WHY. In his honor, we try to do what we can to support other families who experience infant loss and live through the NICU journey.
This January, at 28 weeks pregnant with our daughter Aviana, I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. Shortly after at 31 weeks, I was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia. This kept me hospitalized until it was safe to give birth at 34 weeks. Not only did we face maternal difficulties this time around but, we also had to go through the NICU journey again.
We don’t know what it’s like to have a full term or uneventful pregnancy. We have never been able to walk out of the hospital door with our babies shortly after labor and delivery. However unfair it may seem and feel, these reasons remind us how important it is to support our nurses/doctors, NICU babies, families and research. We understand that the funds we raise, goes a long way even when used for the simplest reason!
Are real issues! Therefore, we continue to fight for Fair and equitable access to maternal health care, Healthy babies and Healthy pregnancies.
Please donate, walk with us and be an ally in this fight for better outcomes!
With preterm birth rates continuing to rise, the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.
At March for Babies™ you're lifting up communities, creating connections and taking action to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.
Together, we’re marching to raise funds and awareness to transform the health of all families!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
