As my 39th birthday approaches, I’m feeling extra grateful—for two healthy pregnancies, two uncomplicated births, and the privilege of being part of a mission that works every day to ensure all moms and babies have the same chance I did.
But the reality is, not everyone is as fortunate.
Every year in the US, nearly 800 women die from complications related to pregnancy, and up to 60,000 experience severe maternal health issues. These aren’t just numbers; they’re mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends. And most of these outcomes are preventable.
My team at March of Dimes focuses on applied research to improve access to care and prevent infant and maternal death and preterm birth. We produce reports and tools like PeriStats, a free public platform that puts vital maternal and infant health data into the hands of communities, advocates, and decision-makers. It’s all part of our commitment to making sure every family, everywhere, has the best possible start.
So this year, instead of gifts, I’m asking for something more meaningful, and my goal is simple: $816- 1 dollar for every woman who lost their life from pregnancy complications in 2022.
Your donation will fund research, advocacy, and programs that directly impact moms and babies who need it most.
Let’s turn my birthday into something bigger than a celebration—let’s make it a step toward a healthier future for allThank you so much for your support. Any amount helps- I only need sixteen $39 donations to reach my goal. :)
With preterm birth rates continuing to rise, the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.
At March for Babies™ you're lifting up communities, creating connections and taking action to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.
Together, we’re marching to raise funds and awareness to transform the health of all families!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
