I grew up thinking pregnancy was one of the most beautiful things in the world—because in my house, it was. My mom didn’t just bring our family into the world; she carried and delivered babies for two other families who couldn’t have done it on their own. And she wasn’t the only one—most of her friends were surrogates too. I was surrounded by stories of love, sacrifice, and the incredible gift of helping families grow.
For a long time, I thought I wanted to be an OB/GYN so I could be part of that magic. But then I realized something: not every birth story is a happy one. The idea that a mother or baby might not survive—what should be a moment of joy turning into heartbreak—was more than I could handle. I couldn’t shake the thought of my mom, those babies, or any family not getting the care and support they deserved.
Fast forward to this year, when I met Candice from March of Dimes. We got to talking, and everything just clicked. The work she was doing, the mission of March of Dimes—it all felt so aligned with what I’d grown up witnessing and caring about. That conversation was the push I needed to get involved.
That’s why I’m joining March for Babies on April 19—to help fight for moms and babies, especially those most at risk. Preterm births and maternal deaths are still rising, and too many families don’t have access to the care they need. It’s frustrating. It’s unfair. And it’s something we can do something about.
I’d love for you to be part of this movement with me! You can donate to support the cause, or even better—sign up to walk with me. Every step we take brings us closer to a future where every mom and baby gets the care they deserve.
Join me, donate, or learn more! Let’s do this together
With preterm birth rates continuing to rise, the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.
At March for Babies™ you're lifting up communities, creating connections and taking action to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.
Together, we’re marching to raise funds and awareness to transform the health of all families!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
