Wade Glover

My name is Wade Glover, and this is the reason why I walk/support “March for Babies”!

Both my parents passed away at early ages, my father when I was 9 years old. Growing up without parents specifically me being a male without a father created “Silent Trauma” for me. I watched my friends, and their dads interact daily whether it was in the park playing sports, talking about life, talking about girls, sex, etc. I never had these experiences growing up. I did not go to the park and play catch with my dad; I went in the backyard and throw the ball against the house and caught it as it ricochetted back to me.

At a very early age I knew I wanted to be a “dad”. Before I ever knew what career I wanted in life, before I ever knew what kind of woman I wanted to marry, before I ever truly knew who I would become as a man, I knew I wanted to me a father. Not just a father but have a son. March 13, 2004, my oldest son was born 3 months premature. God had allowed my faith to become sight. However, his lungs were not developed enough to support his own breathing. Among other health issues due to an abnormality in the amniotic sac resulting in not having enough amniotic fluid surrounding him in the womb.

Jacob Aaron Glover passed away March 13, 2004, and suffice it to say I was devastated. The son I had asked God for, prayed for, I would never get to see grow up. I would not get a chance to do with him, all those things I wished for as a child growing up. I walk in Memory of Jacob. I walk and support March of Dimes and March for Babies in hopes that even $1 can make the difference in another man won’t have to feel what I felt. I share my story in hopes that other men dealing with similar concerns will be encouraged to share their stories.
