My daughter Lucy Cate was born March 30, 2007. She came into this world ten weeks early only weighing 1 pound 5 ounces and 11 3/4 inches long. This beautiful little fighter is a true miracle and we are so blessed that now she is a healthy, rambunctious, amazing little girl.
Lucy spent 79 days in the NICU at LDS Hospital. Although the experience was very scary we made it out pretty smooth thanks to the neonatologists, nurses and NICU staff. For starting out so early and so small Lucy has had no lasting effects of her prematurity other than being a petite little princess!
The March of Dimes is dedicated to saving premature babies, funding research to prevent premature births and also helping parents during the roller coaster ride of the NICU. Our entire family has been impacted by this issue and we would like to give back to an organization that helped us and helped save our daughter.
We will be walking for Team Lucy Bug on May 5th. Our team goal is $1,500 . If you are able to donate and sponsor our team you will be helping babies just like Lucy have a fighting chance at a long, healthy life. Thank you!
The March of Dimes champions the needs of moms and babies in our community and across the nation. The money we raise for March for Babies will support lifesaving research, services, education and advocacy that help babies get a healthy start.
