ABOUT MARCH FOR BABIES

Attention all supporters of healthy babies and strong families!

Join the Memphis March for Babies community walk hosted by Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated Omicron Sigma, Memphis Alumnae Chapter, March of Dimes National Service Partner, for a Volunteer-Led, Community Walk to support March for Babies.  The event will be held on May 18. 2024 at 8:00 AM, starting at Hickory Hill Park, Memphis, TN.

 

This event brings together communities across the state to raise funds and awareness for the March of Dimes, a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the health of moms and babies.  Registration and activities begin at 7:00am.  

 

The March for Babies community walk promises to be an unforgettable experience as we walk together in hope to create a world where every baby is born healthy. Whether you're a seasoned marcher or a first-time participant, your support will make a significant difference in the lives of millions of families.

 

Together, we can make a difference by funding critical research, advocacy, and educational programs that give every baby a fighting chance. Put on your walking shoes, grab your friends and family, and join us on May 18th for an inspiring day of fun, fitness, and community.

Charles Patterson and Larry Jones

Sigma Gamma Rho - Omicron Sigma, Soror, Camille Wright gave birth to Charles Patterson, Jr. 23 years ago at The Med, now Regional One. Charles remained in the nurturing care of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for two months. Once a preemie at birth, he is now a happy and healthy, recent college graduate of Fisk University - where he finished Summa Cum Laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. In the Fall of 2023, Charles was proudly ordained an Elder in the Church of God in Christ and was recently elevated to District Youth President. Celebrate healthy babies and strong moms with Charles and his family at the Memphis March for Babies Community Walk on Saturday, May 18, 2024. --- --- --- --- Larry Jones was born too soon on May 5th, 2020, weighing only 3 pounds 4 ounces. Before going home, Larry remained in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for a month to grow stronger. Help us celebrate Larry turning 4 this year and honor how far he's come.
